Your Wellness - The Start of Another Work Week - Mental Health America of Greater Houston

Another day, another workweek at home for most of us. Taking care of our mental health and wellness continues to be one of the most vital parts of our lives– in particular while working from home.

Here are some things to consider:

  1. Create a routine and stick to it. When you organize your tasks and outline your goals, you mentally prepare yourself for what to expect during the day. Then it’s easier to work towards achieving the goals you set out, rather than vaguely meandering towards them.
  2. Upgrade your “home office.” Wherever that is – consider making it an appealing space. Even if it’s just your dining room table, take time to clean up the area. Light a candle, make sure you can see outside, and put a flower or a plant in that space. Making your workspace comfortable and clean helps you stay focused and feel better.
  3. Consider making time for a moment of silence. Join me every day at 9:00 AM for a couple of minutes of silence to remember those who are most impacted by this crisis, such as restaurant industry workers, health care professionals, and families who have lost loved ones.
  1. LAUGH! Keep the humor coming – here is another fantastic video about us.

I also want to thank Marnie Hylton, LMSW – Medical Social Worker with Baylor College of Medicine for sharing this link with a great list of Do’s and Don’ts of Working from Home

Please share your wellness tips! Take care this week – we will be in touch again soon .
