Evaluation Specialist

Description of Duties and Responsibilities
The Evaluation Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring effective and efficient collection, analysis, and use of organizational data. This person provides oversight for all aspects of data management, evaluation, and reporting, such as developing tools and processes for analyzing data to identify trends and ensure successful implementation of agency programs.
- Develops effective data collection tools, methodology, instruments, and reports (logic models, etc.) to assess the effectiveness of programming, including training staff in the use of these tools, instruments, and reports.
- Collaborate with and guide program staff in data collection/management and evaluation efforts.
- Manages medium to large size data collection projects, including collection, cleaning, and analysis of organizational data, as well as the creation of associated reports.
- Analyze data and trends to identify opportunities for improvement and make data-driven recommendations.
- Work collaboratively with development, program, and operations staff to ensure that data needed for grant reporting purposes is captured and available as needed.
- Serve as primary system administrator for Salesforce, Bonterra Apricot, and other data management systems and provide technical support for staff with issues related to these systems.
- Create dashboards and visualizations to support program staff in making real-time data-informed decisions
- Co-design, implement, and monitor CQI initiatives aimed at enhancing agency processes, services, and outcomes with the Chief Strategy & Innovation Officer
- Establish and document program-wide quality policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Safeguard all client personal identifiable information; anonymize all data before analyses and reporting.
- Perform other duties needed to help drive the vision, fulfill the mission and abide by the organization’s values.
Qualifications for Position
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in public policy, public health, social work, social science or relevant area—with a minimum of three years of experience in research, evaluation, or program management roles, preferably in a nonprofit, human service, or government organization.

- Experience with design and management of research and/or evaluation work; various qualitative and quantitative data collection methods including survey design; creation and implementation of data collection tools; data cleaning and quality control; development of logic models & evaluation plans
- Creative problem solver with high level of organization; effective team player; self-starter with strong initiative
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage time and handle multiple projects and priorities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; adept in Excel
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Must be flexible to accommodate job responsibilities
Supervisory Relationship
This position reports to the Chief Strategy & Innovation Officer
Travel
Travel is primarily local during the business day, less than 10% of time annually.
Hours per day or week
This position requires flexible hours; minimal evenings and weekends. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Court Peer Mentor – Veterans Treatment Court (Veterans Only)
A Volunteer Court Peer Mentor serves as a coach, a guide, a role model, and an advocate for the individuals in which he/she is working. A mentor encourages, guides and supports the mentee as they progress through the court process. Learn more about becoming a Volunteer Court Peer Mentor. This is not a paid position.
