Best Practices Incubator

The purpose of the Best Practice Demonstration Projects are to expand the implementation of behavioral health best practices in schools, especially projects that address district/campus policies and practices detrimental to the overall well-being and healthy development of students such as disciplinary policies that are at the core of the school-to-prison pipeline. The Center has contributed to the improvement of behavioral health processes in school districts since 2013 through the Best Practices Incubator. Each year, the Center invests $100,000 to implement unique pilot projects addressing district/campus policies and practices detrimental to the overall well-being and healthy development of students such as disciplinary policies that are at the core of the school-to-prison pipeline. Our overall goal is to support sustainable behavioral health system change efforts at the district level and share the best practices that drive desired changes.
