On Sunday, February 5, 2017, Houston hosted SoberBowl SuperFestTM, a fresh new music festival for Super Bowl party-goers at White Oak Music Hall.
This first of its kind event is presented by the Houston Recovery Initiative & The
John Lucas Foundation, and produced by The ARK, PsychTrac, Transcend Recovery
Community and The Arbor featured celebrity athletes: John Lucas, Earl
Campbell, Willie Tullis, Ryan Leaf and more. Plus musicians: Royce Da 5'9", Carolyn Wonderland, FINLAY, Tommy Gunz, DJ's: Daniel Allen, Highwire, Millhouse and many others.
Every year at this time, we are bombarded with messages which reinforce the
variety of ways we can party--especially with alcohol. This event is about good music,
making memories and offering hope as the world focuses on Houston, Texas.
Mental Health America of Greater Houston and its Veterans Behavioral Health Initiative (https://www.mhahouston.org/veterans/) proudly supported the Soberbowl Superfest as an Advocacy Partner. We appreciate the volunteerism of our program participants, peer mentors, collaborators and community in this effort.
