Treasures of Texas Luncheon

Once a year, Greater Houston comes together to highlight the stories of corporations, leaders, and everyday citizens making a positive impact on mental health. The last event featured speaker was James Beard Award-Winning Chef Chris Shepherd of Underbelly, Georgia James, One Fifth and UB Preserv fame. This wildly popular Texas treasure stepped out from behind the grill to talk candidly about mental health and the Houston restaurant industry.

George V. Masi, Former President and CEO of Harris Health System, was presented the prestigious Ima Hogg Award at the Treasures of Texas Luncheon. It is the highest honor that MHA of Greater Houston can bestow on an individual or organization who has championed the mental health cause and provided leadership that effected change. Masi was being recognized for his unwavering belief in top-quality healthcare for Harris County’s most vulnerable patients.

Due to COVID-19, a date for the 2021 luncheon has yet to be determined. Please email Chief Development Officer Angie Synek at to inquire about sponsorship opportunities or tickets.
