We are pleased to share with you the first weekly Legislative Update from The Center for School Behavioral Health at Mental Health America of Greater Houston. Each Wednesday through the end of the 85th legislative session, we will share our progress with the MHA of Greater Houston Legislative Agenda and how you can help. We are thrilled with the responses we’ve received thus far and thank you in advance for your support in the coming months.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for our first Advocacy Task Force meeting on Tuesday, January 24! We are glad so many of you could make our rescheduled date after our untimely rain delay the week before. For those of you who were not able to attend, the PowerPoint presentation from the meeting is available for you. Special thanks to The Council on Recovery for welcoming us into their beautiful space.
Throughout the next few months, we will be asking Task Force members to reach out to their representatives and advocate on behalf of the Center for School Behavioral Health. Here is a link to find your representatives and their district and capitol offices.

One of the goals of the Task Force is to empower our members to be a part of the legislative process, but that can be nerve-racking for first timers and seasoned advocates alike.
